Grumble Toy Exclusive Neo Gorrilla Exclusive

Yamomark purchased some vintage molds from a factory. The original maker of the molds is unknown.
Mini Bear.
About 3.5" tall.

This is a handpainted version by Chris Bryan of Grumble Toy. The paints are all his own custom pearl mixes, so this bear is shiny and cute! :-)

2 shades of pearl blue with pearl silver on the face and chest.

The molds are really old so there is degradation in the metal. There are also some seams where the mold was fused in place. These imperfections mixed with the ridiculous cuteness of the sculpts are what make these such winners for me.

超-cho (pronounced Chou-cho) the wing monster is the 3rd toy designed by Grumble Toy. He was sculpted by Ryuuji Kii of Amapro in Japan. As always, Chris and I are thrilled with the job that Amapro did. He always does a great job of giving the toys personality. 超-cho is a mini toy that is a similar size to Wormrah (approximately 3 inches tall).

This version was handpainted by Chris and it will be the colour scheme of the first release. We don't have an official release date yet, but there will be more information soon. I can't wait to see what kinds of paint schemes Chris will come up with for future releases. I think that the back of 超-cho's wings have a lot of possibility and could serve as a blank canvas for many creative ideas.

We are truly excited about our newest release and we hope that you are too! :)

It was a fun weekend of painting and painting for me over here at Grumble Toy. I came up with this fun KillerJ-Sarumon custom.
I'm really happy with the color scheme. I like it. I may have to paint some other toys like this. Just 'cuz I'm kinda a corny guy I think I'll call it.. the "very berry" paint scheme. tee hee.. metallic florescent pink/purple on the back, light purple with over-spray, and kinda an orange powder pink. Fun.

Butanohana and Chibira-Kun

Ainsley and I have been BIG Butanohana fans for quite awhile now.
Things have sure changed for them. Toys used to sit in there shop for a year before selling out, now they sell out in a week!
Regardless, we both think they hit the nail on the head when they decided to start producing Chibira-Kun toys. Admittedly this series ran under my radar until Butanohana brought them to our attention. Am I glad they did! I love the Character design. So wacky and fun. I also love how they incorporate more "serious" kaiju in funny roles.
Below I'll post some stills from the show, as well as some of Butanohanas versions of the Characters. Starting with the new ones up for pre-order in our shop! ;-)

Now that the show is on my radar, I'm noticing a lot of great vintage versions! Some are really wacky!

There are a few current companies also doing versions. Bearmodel, and pictured below (available in the shop, and awesome!) is the Yamanaya standard size version.

Hi everyone!
Yesterday was the opening of our show at Grass Hut Corp. in Portland, OR. Thanks to those that came out despite the gloomy weather. It was really great to meet you all.
We made special Manmorah and Wormrah Grass Hut exclusives! The Manmorah is a dark, pearly, rootbeer and cream soda spray on clear pink vinyl. The Wormrah is rootbeer spray on clear vinyl. The clear Wormrah is painted white from the inside, which gives a neat effect :)

All of the artwork is available at Grass Hut as well as on their website.

This version has a bright red back and a pearly white chest.

Introducing Manmorah!

We are excited to introduce our second vinyl toy, Manmorah! Designed by Chris and Ainsley of Grumble Toy, sculpted and produced in Japan by our good friend Amapro!
Manmorah is the realization of the thought "what if my pet lizard Baxter was a woolly mammoth?" The sculpt was based on a drawing done by Ainsley.

Manmorah stands at just over 5" tall from the bottom of his foot to hump on his back, and he is about 9.5" long from nose to tail. He has 5 points of articulation and can stand on all fours, or on his hind legs. This version is made with pearly white vinyl that has tiny, shimmery sparkles. Chris painted Manmorah with clear red, purple and green spray with black and silver details.

Amapro did a really great job on the sculpt and we are amazed with all of the detail, from the texture of the hair to the wrinkles on his feet.

We don't have a definite release date yet but it will probably be sometime next month. We will post a more exact date soon.

Grumble Toy x Monstock

The newest Grumble Toy exclusive will be released on Monday, June 15th at 12:00 noon, CST. It is the Borugogon & Mini Borugogon by Monstock and Nezrange. It is a very innovative design, complete with jeweled eyes, removable hair and a flower that sits atop its head.

There will be both unpainted and painted versions available. They both have clear pink hair with a translucent red body. The painted version also has silver, blue and pink spray on their hair and body.

As many of you know now, Grumble Toy is one of the only (if not the only) shops who are currently authorized sellers of Anraku's products.
This is great of course, but causes a fair strain on our poor shopping cart whenever we list them.
So.. here are the details on how the Anraku sale will happen.

Milky white vinyl.

On sale sometime between 12 noon and 12:30 Central Standard Time Friday March 27th.

Both items will be listed without a cost. You can then just add it to your cart and check out without having to log into paypal. (quick!)
Inevitably many people will try to purchase at the same time causing the shopping cart to get confused and allow more purchases than there is stock. (we get a limited supply)
The people whos purchases come through first will be sent a paypal invoice. Everyone else will be notified. The people who receive the paypal invoices will have 24hrs to make payment, after that the toy will be offered to the person who is next in line.

Hopefully that is clear. The only thing you realy have to remember is be there 12 noon. Click fast! Hope you got it, and then pay within 24hrs if you receive an invoice. Good Luck!

Forest Gremlins

Ainsley has just completed a few Forest Gremlins that are now up in the shop. These are much larger than the mini forest gremlin, standing 22inches from the tips of their ears to their toes.

The Forest Gremlin is a large, elusive gremlin that can be found in heavily forested areas. He is a mischievous chap and he spends most of its days collecting mushrooms and chasing small rodents. They work away collecting the large mushrooms, leaving the smaller ones for the mini forest gremlins to collect.

They are made with plush and felt. They have handmade polymer clay eyes and a needle felted nose. They each come with two mushrooms and a gray felt bag to carry them in.

Hi everyone,
Well, Ainsley has certainly been on a roll making new toys this week. There are two new plush Wide-eyed kitties up in the Grumble Toy shop. They are both made out of wool material and they stand approximately 9.5 inches tall from their toes to their ears. The little brown kitty has a small, black, glass nose and the green one has a nose made out of wool felt.

Ainsley just finished a couple of new mini plush toys that are now up in the Grumble Toy shop.
The first one is another mini Bonhomme. This little Bonhomme lives in green leafy areas where he uses his green coat to camouflage into the foliage.
The second little guy is a miniature forest gremlin. His specialty is collecting wild mushrooms, which he gathers in the small pouch that he carries. In his spare time he likes to play in the leaf litter. They are very social creatures and love the company of other forest gremlins. They have even been seen hanging out with some types of Bonhomme.

Summer Bonhomme

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to introduce you to the newest Bonhomme, the Summer Bonhomme.
In the summer, the Bonhomme of Winnipeg changes color from gray to a rich chocolate brown. His fur becomes shorter, denser and very soft.

This is the very first Summer Bonhomme that I have made. Here he is pictured next to the tiny, little Bonhomme mini.

The Summer Bonhomme has golden yellow eyes and soft plush fur. He is the same size as the standard Bonhomme at approximately 20cm wide and standing 49cm tall from head to toe.

New Felted Critters

Hi everyone,

There are a few more felted creatures up in the Grumble Toy Etsy shop. Each of them stands 2-3 inches tall and they are made entirely of wool except for their eyes.
Both cats have long tails and paw pads. The bear has a stubby round tail and an open mouth.

Butanohana - Grumble Toy exclusive!

Grumble Toy is very excited about our upcoming release of an exclusive version of the Butanohana dinosaurs!
It is a set of 9 dinos and 4 naked cavemen. The set contains 3 green dinos, 3 pink and 3 yellow. All of the dinos are made with glow in the dark vinyl!

The painted sets are a limited edition of 20 and the unpainted sets are a limited edition of 10.

They will be released on Canada Day!
July 1st, 2008 at 7:00pm Central Standard Time.

Needle Felted Creatures

Ainsley just recently finished a couple of needle felted creatures that are now up in the Grumble Toy etsy shop.
These cute little cats stand 2-3 inches tall. They both have glass eyes and tiny paw pads. Each needle felted creature that Ainsley makes will be a one of a kind.

Mini Bonhommes!

Ainsley just recently finished a few mini Bonhommes that are now up in the Grumble Toy shop. These mini Bonhommes are a mere 4 inches tall from head to toe, compared to the original Bonhommes which are 19 inches tall.

Here are the little guys playing outside in the grass and vines. Like their bigger counterparts, each mini Bonhomme is unique and has its own facial expression and personality.

The larger Bonhommes also enjoy the outdoors, though they do prefer when there is snow.

Grumble Toy has set up an etsy shop to showcase some of the toys and prints that Ainsley has made. Some of the plush that was up in the Grumble Toy shop has been moved to our shop on Etsy.
Etsy is a website dedicated to handmade things. It is kind of a neat website. There are thousands and thousands of people contributing on the site and it is definitely worth checking out!

Butanohana / Grumble Toy exclusive!!!!
We are very excited to announce that Grumble Toy will be releasing an exclusive set of the Butanohana dinosaur series.

Dumbo Octopus

It is inspired by the Dumbo Octopus found deep in the ocean.
This Dumbo Octopus is more like a "penta-pus" because it has 5 tentacles instead of 8.

It is titled "Octopus".

Gocco Prints

Hi everyone,

Chris and I just bought a print gocco!
We plan on doing a lot of prints of our drawings. Here is the first print that we have completed.

It is titled "Bonhommes". It is an edition of 25 on the white paper and 15 on the brown paper. We will have these up in the shop very soon. ^ - ^

The print size is approximately 6" by 9" and it is printed on paper that is 8.5" by 11".

Introducing Wormrah!

Introducing the very first toy designed by Grumble Toy to be produced. Wormrah was sculpted by Ryuuji Kii of Amapro.
Both Chris and I love Ryuuji Kii 's work and think that he did a great job of capturing Wormrah's character.
All of the painting was done by Chris. The pictures below are of the first prototype, so there may be slight variation in the final paint scheme.

Wormrah will go on sale on April 19th, 2008.

We are very excited about Wormrah's release and hope that he will be the first of many toys!

Wormrah arrived last night. We are very happy with how it turned out and can't wait to share pictures with everyone.

Right now we are busily trimming the excess vinyl off of the joints and assembling all of the figures.
